Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Introduction

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is a response to Section 54(1), Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and relates to actions and activities for the financial year ending 30 April 2023.

Scrumptious Consultancy Limited (Trading as SC-Limited) is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking violations in its own operations, its supply chain, and its products. We have zero-tolerance towards slavery and require our supply chain to comply with our values.

Organisational Structure

SC-Limited has business operations in the United Kingdom.

We operate in the Fire and Security industry. The nature of our supply chains is with companies who supply consultancy.

For more information about the Company, please visit our website: https://www.sc-limited.co.uk

Policies

We operate a number of policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  • Recruitment and selection policy - We conduct checks on all prospective employees to verify that they are eligible to work in the UK. Certain roles require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check where employees may be working with vulnerable people.

  • Supplier code of conduct - We operate this policy to ensure our suppliers operate in full compliance with the laws, rules and regulations of the countries in which they operate, and to seek similar commitments across their own supply chain.

  • Whistleblowing policy - We operate this policy so that employees are able to raise concerns about how staff are being treated or practices within our business or our supply chains without fear of reprisal.

  • Staff code of conduct - We are committed to the fair treatment of all staff. Our staff code of conduct reflects our core values and expected behaviours. The code of conduct makes it clear that we have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery.

  • Procurement policy - We want to make sure that potential suppliers are committed to ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within their own supply chains. Our procurement policy and supporting procedures set out controls and checks undertaken to help verify this.

  • Safeguarding policy - This policy highlights the potential risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, including how to identify signs of exploitation and how to report concerns.

We make sure our suppliers are aware of our policies and adhere to the same standards.

Due Diligence

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, we have adopted the following due diligence procedures:

  • Internal supplier audits.

  • External supplier audits.

Our due diligence procedures aim to:

  • Identify and action potential risks in our business and supply chains.

  • Monitor potential risks in our business and supply chains

  • Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains.

  • Provide protection for whistleblowers.

Our ISO 9001 procedures are audited externally and Modern Slavery and our business policies and practises are within scope of this quality standard and demonstrate our commitment to quality.

Risk and Compliance

SC-Limited has evaluated the nature and extent of its exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in its UK supply chain through:

  • Evaluating the slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier.

  • Creating an annual risk profile for key suppliers.

  • Reviewing on a regular basis all aspects of the supply chain based on supply chain mapping.

We do not consider that we operate in a high-risk environment because the majority of our supply chain is based in the UK and in low-risk industries, security and fire and rescue related organisations.

We do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. Where there is evidence of failure to comply with our policies and procedures by any of our suppliers, we will seek to terminate our relationship with that supplier immediately.

Effectiveness

SC-Limited uses Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure its effectiveness and ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in its business and supply chains. These KPIs are as follows:

  • We request our suppliers have Modern Slavery policies (where they are companies) and adhere to SC-Limited’s policy.

  • We train our staff about modern slavery issues and increase awareness within the Company.

  • We will carry out a regular audit of suppliers.

Training Staff

SC-Limited requires that our staff complete training and ongoing refresher courses on slavery and human trafficking. The Company's training covers:

  • How to identify the signs of slavery and human trafficking.

  • What initial steps should be taken if slavery or human trafficking is suspected.

  • How to escalate potential slavery or human trafficking issues to the relevant parties within the Company.

  • What external help is available.

  • What steps the Company should take if suppliers in its supply chain do not implement anti-slavery policies in high- risk scenarios, including their removal from the Company's supply chain.

Who we are

This website is operated by Scrumptious Consultancy Limited (“we”, “us”), trading as SC Fire Risk and SC Advisory Group. Registered office: 5 & 6 Northam Business Centre, Southampton, SO14 5RP, United Kingdom. Company number: 09007235. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us about data protection at info@scfirerisk.co.uk.

What we collect and why

The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send us through our enquiry/contact form: your name, your email address and/or phone number, and the content of your message. We use it solely to respond to your enquiry and to discuss the services you have asked about. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and where relevant taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We do not use your details for marketing without your consent, and we do not sell your data.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics that profile you. Only cookies strictly necessary for the site to function are used. We measure page views using a privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics service that does not build a profile of you or follow you across other websites. The fonts used on this site are served from our own domain, not from a third-party font service. Because we do not track you, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If we ever add analytics or non-essential cookies that do track you, we will update this section — and ask for your consent — before that change goes live.

The service-area map

Our service-area map is drawn using map images (“tiles”) supplied by a third-party mapping provider, CARTO, using OpenStreetMap data. We have deliberately set the map up so that nothing is requested from CARTO until you press the button to load the map — if you never press it, your browser never contacts them. If you do choose to load the map, your device requests the map images directly from CARTO, and CARTO will necessarily receive your IP address and the address of the page you are on, because that is how any image is delivered over the internet. CARTO does not set a cookie when serving these tiles, and we do not use the map to identify you, track you, or build a profile of you. CARTO’s own privacy notice is available at carto.com.

Who we share it with

We share your enquiry only with the people at Scrumptious Consultancy who need it to respond, and with the service providers who help us operate the site and deliver our email (for example Vercel, who host this website, and Amazon Web Services, who deliver our email). These providers act on our instructions and do not use your data for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@scfirerisk.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version will always be on this page.

Terms of Use

Effective date: 12 July 2026

About these terms

These terms govern your use of this website. This website is operated by Scrumptious Consultancy Limited (“we”, “us”), trading as SC Fire Risk. Registered office: 5 & 6 Northam Business Centre, Southampton, SO14 5RP, United Kingdom. Company number: 09007235. By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

The information on this site is not advice

The content of this website is published for general information only. It describes the services we offer and the kind of work we do. It is not fire safety advice, and it is not a fire risk assessment. Fire safety is specific to a building, its occupants and its use, and no website can take account of your circumstances. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything on this site. Formal advice is given only under a written engagement with us, and only in a report or other deliverable issued to you.

Our services and your contract with us

Nothing on this website is an offer to enter into a contract. Where you engage us to carry out work, that work is governed by the written engagement terms agreed between us for that piece of work. If anything in those engagement terms conflicts with these website terms, the engagement terms take precedence.

Using this site

You may view, download and print pages from this site for your own use, and share links to it. You may not republish our content as your own, sell it, or use it in a way that is unlawful, misleading, or that damages our reputation. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site, or interfere with its operation or security.

Enquiries you send us

When you send us an enquiry through this site, please make sure the information you give us is accurate, and please do not send us confidential or sensitive information through the form. We handle enquiry information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

Unless we say otherwise, the content of this website — text, images, layout and branding — belongs to us or is used by us under licence. Our trade marks and logos may not be used without our permission.

Links to other websites

This site links to websites operated by other people, including our sister company. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.

Availability

We aim to keep this website available, but we do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.

Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — this includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on the general information published on this website, as opposed to advice given to you under a written engagement. Nothing here affects the liability we accept under a signed engagement contract, which is governed by that contract.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our website, our services or our conduct, please tell us. Our complaints and quality escalation route is set out in a separate policy on this page, and we would rather hear from you than not.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Accessibility Statement

Effective date: 12 July 2026

Our commitment

Scrumptious Consultancy Limited wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, speech recognition, or a keyboard rather than a mouse. Accessibility is part of how we think about quality, and we treat an accessibility barrier as a defect to be fixed rather than an inconvenience to be explained.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, at level AA. This is the standard commonly used to judge whether a website is accessible.

We want to be straightforward about the limits of that statement. This website has not yet been assessed by an independent accessibility audit, so we are describing the standard we design and build to, not claiming a tested and certified level of conformance. Where we find that we fall short of it, we will say so on this page and fix it.

What we have done

In building this site we have aimed to use meaningful headings and landmarks, text that can be resized and reflowed, colour contrast that remains readable, descriptive alternative text for images that carry meaning, form fields with visible labels and clear error messages, and controls that can be reached and operated with a keyboard. Content that would otherwise load automatically from a third party — such as our service-area map — is placed behind a button, so it does not appear without warning.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you what we know than imply we have checked everything. Because this site has not been independently audited, we are not in a position to say that it contains no barriers — only that we have not knowingly left one in, and that we will fix what is reported to us.

One limitation we do know about: our service-area map is an interactive component supplied by a third party (CARTO, using OpenStreetMap data), and its controls may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. It does not load until you press a button, and the areas we cover are also written out in plain text next to it, so you never need to use the map to get the information from it.

Telling us about a problem

If you find something on this website that you cannot use or cannot read — a page that does not work with your screen reader, text you cannot enlarge, a form you cannot complete — please tell us. You do not need to know why it is happening or use any particular terminology; just describe what you were trying to do and what went wrong.

  • Email: info@scfirerisk.co.uk

  • Telephone: 023 8225 0164

Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and what happened. We will acknowledge your report, tell you who is looking into it, and tell you what we intend to do about it.

If you need information from this website in a different format — for example a document in large print, or the content of a page read out or supplied as plain text — ask us using the contact details above and we will do our best to provide it.

If you are not happy with our response

If you report an accessibility problem to us and you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can escalate it through our Complaints and Quality Escalation Policy, set out on this page.

Review of this statement

We will review this statement when the website changes materially, and at least annually.

Complaints and Quality Escalation Policy

Effective date: 12 July 2026

Our approach

We would always rather know. If something we have done has fallen short — the quality of a report, the conduct of an assessor, a missed commitment, the way we have communicated with you, or the accessibility of this website — we want to hear about it, and we would prefer to hear about it early. We treat complaints as quality information: they tell us where our process is failing, and correcting the process matters as much to us as putting the individual case right.

Raising a concern will not affect how we treat you, and it will not affect any ongoing work we are doing for you.

Raising a concern informally

Many things are resolved fastest by simply telling the person you are dealing with. If you are working with one of our assessors or consultants, raise it with them directly in the first instance — if it can be put right straight away, it will be.

Making a formal complaint

If the matter is not resolved, or you would rather not raise it with the person concerned, you can make a formal complaint.

  • By email: info@scfirerisk.co.uk — the quickest route, and it gives us a written record from the start. Say in the subject line that it is a complaint, so that it is routed as one.

  • By telephone: 023 8225 0164

  • By post: Scrumptious Consultancy Limited, 5 & 6 Northam Business Centre, Southampton, SO14 5RP.

If you would rather your complaint were handled by someone who was not involved in the work, say so and we will arrange that.

To help us look into it properly, please tell us:

  • who you are and how you would like us to reply to you;

  • what the complaint is about — the project, report, site visit or person concerned, and the approximate dates;

  • what happened, and why you think it was wrong;

  • what you would like us to do to put it right.

You do not need to use any particular form of words, and you do not need to have identified the cause. Tell us what went wrong and we will investigate it.

What happens next

  1. We acknowledge it. We will confirm we have received your complaint and tell you who is dealing with it.

  2. We investigate it. The complaint is reviewed by someone who was not responsible for the work being complained about. We will look at the records for the job, speak to the people involved, and come back to you if we need anything further from you.

  3. We respond. We will write to you with our findings: what we found, whether we agree that something went wrong, and what we are going to do about it — which may include correcting or reissuing a report, revisiting a site, or refunding or adjusting a fee. If the investigation is going to take longer than we first expected, we will tell you, rather than leave you waiting without news.

  4. We learn from it. Complaints and their outcomes are recorded and reviewed as part of our quality management system, so that we can identify patterns and correct the underlying process, not just the individual case.

If you are still not satisfied

If our response does not resolve the matter, you can ask for it to be escalated and reviewed again at a more senior level. An escalated complaint is looked at afresh by someone who was not involved in the original decision, and we will tell you who is carrying out that review. Tell us why you think our response is wrong and what you would like to happen.

If your complaint is about how we have handled your personal data, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. Our Privacy Policy on this page explains this.

Quality management

Complaints, the corrective actions taken in response to them, and their effectiveness are reviewed as part of our management review process under our quality management system.

Review of this policy

This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if our process changes.
